Kennedy Kao
Writer & Director
Kennedy Kao is a Toronto-based filmmaker who crafts stories about Asian Canadians and the Asian-Canadian diaspora. His short film “Danica’s Mom” won the Grand Prix Prize at Montreal Festival du Nouveau Cinema 2020 and was screened at the Canadian Film Fest in 2021. His new film “We Don’t Need Your Kind” is currently making its festival run. He is currently working on a feature-length documentary about Filipino food & culture and is in pre-production for his next short film, Good Boy.

Tomo Nogi
Producer
Tomo Nogi is a Toronto & Tokyo-based producer, photographer, videographer, and editor, who recently migrated from Japan. His visual presentation appears in various forms such as promotional videos, music videos, narrative work, documentaries, behind-the-scenes work, product photography, portraits, event documentation, and live music photography.

Amon Yamomoto
as Shinji
Amon Yamomoto is a first-time actor and aspiring filmmaker. He is currently studying Cinema Studies at the University of Toronto. Amon is interested in creating films that bridge the gap between live-action films and the manga medium. Amon will be making his acting debut in Good Boy, playing Shinji.

Miyuki Yamada
as Akiko
Miyuki Yamada is a first-time actor and illustrator based in Toronto. Miyuki studied illustration at Pratt Institute, located in Brooklyn, NY, using traditional mediums such as acrylic and gouache. She is currently working more toward digital art and is working to revamp her portfolio catered to concept art in the entertainment industry. Miyuki will be making her acting debut in Good Boy, playing Akiko.

Giacomo Sellar
as Dino
Giacomo Sellar is a 2015 graduate of the National Theatre School of Canada’s Acting program. He has worked consistently in both theatre and screen roles for the last seven years. More recently, he has founded his own production company, Studio Okawari, creating cinema and media dedicated to shedding light on the deeper character of Canadian storytelling, food and history. Giacomo will be playing Dino in Good Boy and will serve as Executive Producer.

Kiana Woo
as Mariah
Kiana Woo is a Chinese-Canadian actor, mover and creator with a special love for clown, physical theatre, and classical works. Kiana has worked across Canada since graduating from the University of Alberta’s BFA program, spending time in Edmonton, Calgary and Toronto. Selected credits include: The Fiancee (Citadel Theatre), Alice in Wonderland (Guild Festival Theatre), Cymbeline (Shakespeare Bash’d), and The School for Scandal (Studio Theatre). Kiana will be playing Mariah in Good Boy.

Zeyad Saber

Zeyad Saber is a Cinematographer and Filmmaker based in Toronto, Canada. He is a recent graduate of York University's Film Production program. His interest in film is influenced by Egyptian classics, magical realism, and experimental film. Focused on exploring the psychology of his subjects, he is always keen on achieving a visual language that represents the psyche of his characters and the overall mood of the world they live in.
